My First Visit to My Birth City as an Adult

In September 2019, I had the opportunity to travel to my birth city for the first time since I last left there as a child. The city had changed so drastically from the few memories I have stuck in my head from so many years ago. The downtown has really blossomed.

While I had been wanting to visit my birth city, the youth climate strikes in 2019 got me motivated to make the trip in September. I arrived in Phoenix at the Greyhound station on the morning of September 20th, fresh off the 6.5 hour overnight greyhound trip from Los Angeles. If you’re not familiar with the layout of Phoenix, the greyhound station is out near the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, and just over 3 miles from city hall in downtown Phoenix.
