Welcome to the overview page for my fitness activity. Walking is a huge part of my life, both as a benefit for physical and mental health, but also as the main way I get around, aside from using public transportation. Not only is walking good for health, it is also good for the planet, as it uses zero fossil fuels and uses resources already in place for getting around.
Since I began tracking miles walked on January 01, 2017, I have walked over 5,400 miles to date. This page will show when each 100 mile marker is crossed, starting in 2017 through the present.

While not different than the miles in the other sections below, this page shows the 100 mile breakpoints crossed since I went vegan March 15, 2019. This is meant to encourage those who might have an active lifestyle who wish to become vegan. Recently passed mile 1700.

2020 Fitness Walking Overview
In 2020, the goal will be to walking the number of miles to represent the year: 2,020. This averages out to just over 5.50 miles per day. I will accomplish this years goal, as I have the previous 3 years. Let’s all set achievable goals in the new decade and push to achieve them.

2019 Fitness Walking Overview
In 2019, I originally set the goal for 1,500 but bumped it to 1,750 near the end of 2017 along with the 2018 goal. While there were some times over the summer where I grew weary I would not complete the years goal, with some 10+ miles walking days I completed the years goal in time for a Christmas gift to myself.

2018 Fitness Walking Overview
In 2018, I originally set a walking goal for 1,250 but bumped it to 1,400 near the end of 2017. I blew that goal out of the water, walking over 2,000 miles in 2018.

2017 Fitness Walking Overview
in 2017, I set a walking goal of 1,000 miles. Being my first year to track and walk a set goal, I set the goal low as 1,000 meant just over 2.7 miles per day. I achieved the years goal with nearly 300 extra miles.
